This Privacy Policy explains what information PIEHOLAI collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices available to you when you use the App.
1. Overview
PIEHOLAI is a personal nutrition-tracking service. This policy applies to information handled through the App and related services. It does not apply to third-party services you choose to use independently.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information, such as your email address and basic profile information provided by a sign-in provider.
- Nutrition content, such as food photos, written or voice descriptions, recipes, serving details, food logs, and estimated calories and macronutrients.
- Goals and preferences, such as calorie or macro targets, reminders, saved foods, and App settings.
- Technical and usage information needed to operate and protect the App, such as device and browser type, timezone, diagnostic events, and interaction data.
- Guest-session information, including a temporary identifier and locally stored preferences.
If you send feedback, we store your message, the page you were on, your device type, and your email address only if you choose to be contacted. You can delete your account at any time, which also removes your feedback.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide features such as food analysis, nutrition tracking, recipes, goals, reminders, and history.
- Authenticate accounts, save preferences, and synchronize information across sessions.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Use.
PIEHOLAI does not sell your personal information.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
PIEHOLAI uses service providers for hosting, data storage, authentication, notifications, security, and artificial-intelligence features. When you request automated food analysis, the photo or description needed for that request is sent to an AI service to generate an estimate.
Voice input uses your browser's built-in speech recognition, which may send audio to your browser provider (such as Google or Apple) to turn it into text. PIEHOLAI does not receive or store your audio.
These providers receive only the information reasonably needed to perform their services and handle it under their own applicable terms and privacy commitments. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer.
5. Caregiver and Accountability-Partner Connections
If the App offers sharing or account-linking features, the information you choose to share may be visible to the people you select. Review sharing choices carefully and remove access when you no longer want information shared.
6. Data Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, keep it secure, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. If you request account deletion, PIEHOLAI will delete or de-identify associated personal information unless retention is required or permitted by law. Backup copies may remain for a limited period before routine deletion.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing of, or receive a copy of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent or appeal a privacy decision. Requests may be made through the support contact published with the App. Identity verification may be required before a request is completed.
8. Children's Privacy
PIEHOLAI is not directed to children under 16, or the higher minimum age required where they live. PIEHOLAI does not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact the support channel published with the App so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
9. Data Security
PIEHOLAI uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
10. International Data
PIEHOLAI and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, reasonable measures are used to support lawful international transfers.
11. Cookies and Tracking
The App may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies that are necessary for sign-in, security, preferences, guest sessions, and reliable operation. Browser settings may let you control some of these technologies, but blocking essential storage may prevent parts of the App from working. PIEHOLAI does not use this information to sell personal data.
12. Changes to This Policy
PIEHOLAI may update this Privacy Policy as the App or applicable law changes. The updated effective date will be posted at the top of this page, and additional notice will be provided when required.
